The Gowandale ewes are well settled on their new property “Grittleton” 3500 acres to the immediate west of Charinga.
The sale rams for this year are June 2008 drop, well grown, long stapled and plain bodied. A selection of 250 is available for selection this year.
Lambing has been completed in June so more mature rams can be presented for sale in 2010.
Sires used in both AI and natural matings have exceptional bone, deep bodies and free, long stapled, soft wool with nourishment.
The first official Gowandale Auction and Open day held at Charinga was
pleasing.
With 50 rams auctioned the Top price ram sold for $3250 with an overall
average of $932.
This year the on property auction will be held at Charinga on Monday October 5th and will follow immediately on after the Charinga Sale. It will contain the first Gowandale and Gowandale/ Charinga cross offspring since being under new ownership. The focus being on long stapled, big plain bodied sheep with soft wool and nourishment. These will also be displayed at the annual Open day at Charinga on Friday September 25th.
